Grocery Shoppin

Howdy All! I want to talk to you about shoppin for groceries on a budget. Use coupons when you can, look for the non-brand name stuff..you will be surprised on how on most occasions taste better than the name brands. Its hard to buy food when the cost of food is so high these days. I am going to put a reciepe on here that is really budget friendly and i have ate this when i was a kid..to my surprise now that im an adult its not expensive at all!

My Momma's Mexican Casserole

1-2 lbs. of gorund beef
1 med onion (yellow or white)
1 can of tomatoes w/green chilies (off brand of Rotel)
1 can of cream of mushroom or chicken
1 box of macaroni dinner
4 cups of a mild or sharp cheddar cheese

Preheat oven at 350 degrees

start with the ground beef brown meat over a med-high heat..chop medium onion..put onion into pan with ground beef. once your beefand onion mixture is done drain fat. place into casserole dish.
now you can open the can of green chilies, mushroom soup and put in a bowl along with the cheese powder from the macaroni dinner box mix all three until incorportated. Cook macaroni as directed on box. You can put the soup/tomatoe/cheese mixture into casserole dish. while you are waiting for the macaroni to be done you can mix all ingrediant that is in the casserole dish. when the macaroni is done mix that into the casserole dish as well. then sprinkle your 4 cups of cheddar chesse then put into oven and bake for 20-30 min. until chesse is bubbly or slightly brown. Then serve..makes about 6-8 servings..My mother taught me how to do this when i was young. So now im sharing it with you enjoy! Until Next time!!!

Always include your child

When you let your children help you cook, and you get to see their faces light up when you tell them.."Good Job" "Im so proud of you". There is not greater feeling than that..knowing you have not only made a memory, you have bonded in a way that is indiscribable! This evening was no different..Christmas holidays..i always look forward in making sugar cookies with my girl..i roll the dough, she picks her shapes..she makes her cookies and i bake them. Then once that is all done..we decorate together. I still have her first cookie in my freezer! I look back to when my mother was alive..and what she had passed on to me by allowing me to help her with cooking. The time and the reciepes will always hold a special place in my heart. Love you Mom!  I encourage all of you, Mom's and Dad's alike..if your children show an intrest in cooking, welcome it wholeheartly!  God Bless All of You! Until next time....!
